Writing a blog
One of the great ways to grow content on your website and help on-site SEO is to Blog, but the very idea of doing it fills many people with horror. What am I going to write about, I will not know what to say, I have nothing anyone will want to hear arrrrgh, panic, too difficult, can’t do it!!
Well actually it is not as hard as people, think. Remember you are the expert in your field; you have stored huge amounts of experience and knowledge in that big computer called a brain. The biggest problem you will have is that you do not know what you know or put another way the filing system in your brain computer is not structured you have just crammed loads of information in there without linking it together.
So how do you overcome the problem, well there are several techniques that work and make blogging easy yes EASY! You just need to help your brain pull the information from that crazy filing system most of us have.
So here are a few techniques for blogging.
1. Ask yourself a specific question
If I ask a chef to write a blog about cooking, their first question is likely to be what do you want to know about, or in what context, or what sort of meal or event. They may be able to write a few articles then the creative juices run dry. But imagine you are informant of a customer, they ask you specific questions and you fire out the answers with no problem because it is a focused query. The same goes for your brain - so help it:
- Imagine the sort of question client will ask and write 150 to 200 words on that - easy isn’t it.
- If you are in front of a customer and they ask a great question - make a note of it and produce a blog article about it.
2. Develop Lists that help understand your area of expertise
- What are the main points to consider when can I, etc……?
- List goods resources on the web.
- Make a list of the main points to consider when performing a specific task.
3 Reader Involvement
- Run a contest and give prizes for user involvement.
- Seek feedback on ideas or comments you make.
- Run a survey; get people to vote for different ideas.
- Provide a list of resources and then ask people to add to the list.
- Ask the reader to submit questions so you can answer to demonstrate your expertise.
4. Post controversial ideas and ask for ideas
- Perhaps discuss the both sides of an issue.
- Some areas like politics and religion are very controversial and might be worth staying away from.
- Write a post for beginners in your area of expertise.
- Write a post for experts. This could be a comment on something that is current, or where a level of expertise is needed and you have some good or innovative ideas.
- Review new ideas, products or services in your industry.
- Think of some of the myths in your industry and comment on whether they are fact or fiction.
- Review service providers in your industry. Help your readers pick the best or even the worst available to them.

More and more consumers are using Social networking outlets like Facebook and Twitter to research unique products and create buying decisions. What’s more, Social Media provides THE one BEST opportunity to interact with your clients and potential clients. Nowadays, social media is an enormous phenomenon and can be utilised to market your business. Employing social media should be an integral part of your total internet marketing campaign; in reality it’s almost essential nowadays.
Every small company should have an online marketing strategy to remain competitive. Many modest businesses still do not own a site and are missing real opportunities to market themselves. Many now recognise the importance of having a synergised and cohesive online marketing campaign because it can do wonders for their bottom line. Most smallish businesses finally have a web site and several little businesses are currently using Facebook and Twitter to boost their internet presence.

Social media is easy to use and easy to abuse. I smiled at the moderator of a local Facebook Business Networking Group fixing the following post to the top of their page – “we don’t mind you sharing what you do with the group but please keep your ads to no more than once a week.” It has been said that the way many businesses use social media is like asking for sex on a first date, blunt and not about building relationships. The aim of social media is to build trust, reputation and give information. People will then start doing business with you.
